Erofili

Paradosiakos Syllogos Erofili was founded in September 2005 in Rethymno. Its purpose is to cultivate and present Crete’s music and dance tradition — and to pass it on through younger generations.

We run groups for children, teenagers and adults. Classes cover Cretan dances — syrtos, pentozalis, kastrinos, sousta, pidichtos, katsampadianos, maleviziotis — as well as dances from the rest of Greece.

The omilos performs in Greece and abroad, researches older Cretan dances, and takes part in the life of the town. This is not only a school: it is a community.
